In a bid to battle the alarming increase in Delhi’s pollution levels, the Supreme Court today banned the registration of diesel cars with a displacement of over 2000cc in the national capital. To remain in effect till March 31, 2016, the ban affects not only buyers but also carmakers. The list of cars that fall under the purview of this ban includes Mahindra Scorpio, Mahindra Bolero, Mahindra XUV500, Tata Safari, Toyota Innova, and luxury car manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz and Audi.
